Vancouver, B.C. - Canfor Corporation (TSX: CFP) today reported net income of $26.2 million for the second quarter of 2011, compared to $32.3 million for the first quarter of 2011 and $43.7 million for the second quarter of 2010. For the six months ended June 30, 2011, the Company’s net income was $58.5 million, compared to $79.2 million for the comparable period in 2010. President and CEO, Don Kayne, said, “We are seeing several positive indicators in lumber markets, especially Asia where we shipped record high volumes in the quarter. That said, a sustained recovery of lumber markets and prices will not begin until there is a turnaround in the U.S. economy, and particularly the housing sector.”
