Freudenberg produces nonwovens for a wide variety of applications. Customers come from the textile and automotive industries as well as many other sectors. Freudenberg maintains a close partnership with the Japanese nonwovens producer Japan Vilene Corporation. The Nonwovens Business Area has three Business Groups. Freudenberg Nonwovens develops, produces and markets nonwovens products for a wide range of applications such as interlinings, tuft backings and nonwovens for a variety of technical applications and medical and hygiene products. The company is active worldwide and has several joint ventures together with JVC. Freudenberg was the first to introduce nonwovens to the market and is still the world leader in this sesctor. Freudenberg Nonwovens sets standards worldwide with new ideas such as evolon®, a textile made of microfilaments, Comfortemp®, a dynamic climate control material or, a three-dimensional nonwoven product. 

The company’s core business is roofing materials.
Freudenberg Politex also produces wadding for garments and furniture. Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has focussed on one of the key trends of the 21st century: clean air, clean liquids and a clean environment. Innovative filters and filtration solutions from Freudenberg include intake, recirculated and spent air filters as well as liquid filters for many industrial applications marketed mainly under the Viledon® brand and micronAir® cabin air filters for the automotive industry.
In the health and safety field, the business group offers filter solutions for laser printers, air conditioning systems, respiratory masks, vacuum cleaners and other applications.
