Metso will supply a greenfield kraft pulp mill to the Japanese Oji Paper Co. Ltd., to be built in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, in the southern part of China. Start-up of the pulp mill is scheduled at the end of 2012. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The outbreaks of bark beetle "mountain pine beetle" will have serious consequences for employment and forest industry in the Canadian region British Columbia. Standard and Poor's Rating Servides has revised its long-term credit rating on Norske Skog to B-, from earlier B. The Negative Outlook is maintained. Norske Skog does not have interest or covenants linked to the rating level on the existing debt.
Profit after tax for January–June 2010 was SEK 312 million (January–June 2009: SEK 501 million). Operating profit amounted to SEK 588 million (787). Earnings were better than analysts expected.
